Genre Research: Scary Movie

Image
First off, the mystery/thriller genre is what we choose. This film and its series parody horror films, which makes them both humorous and suspenseful. I want to include some laughing and some jumps. The wonderful thing about the film, and the series in particular, is that it contains a lot of realistic moments. For example, if someone is chasing you with a knife, you should try to throw something at them rather than just standing there and letting it happen. The jokes were always the same throughout the entire film, so that was the only thing I found annoying.

This movie has a lot of unknowns going on during the full movie. The child protagonist's storyline is present, but a lot of unanswered information on his brother and their issues is also introduced. There was a chaser and a higher-ranking character in this film that the main character was unaware of, which adds to the mystery because part of the film depicts the entire plot as a setup. A significant cliffhanger is also left in the film, which I intend to employ. My only complaint was the explanation of the unknown charters; while they provided a quick synopsis at the conclusion, it was insufficient.

The major reason I decided to examine this movie is that the ubiquitous idea of the magic bracelet that grants wishes is based on a genie who bestows wishes from an object—an oil lamp. Along with the greed and selfishness, I actually enjoyed the drive and thinking. I want to build the main character's challenges and interactions around those four concepts. Although the plot was simple, I felt that it moved too slowly and could have done so more quickly.

Genre Decision

Image
Good afternoon, bloggers! Finally, my groups decision for our genre is  here.  For our opening sequence and final task, we have decided on the thriller/mystery genre. We decided on this because it fits most with our pitch and the vision, we have for it. With the thriller genre, we will be able to make use of all the shots and editing that are on theme for the genre, and that we are fond of.  We were originally debating a comedy but ultimately ended up going with a thriller to make it something we would be more likely to enjoy making. The sounds in thrillers are something that we are all familiar with and are comfortable working with, whether that be editing them in or finding them on the web. All four of us are thriller movie fanatics, which was definitely another contributing factor.  We can't wait to make a thrilling sequence! We can't wait for you guys to see it.  Anyway, thank you all for tuning in, see you next time!

Comedy Genre

Image
Researched Films: "Anchorman," "Airplane!" Now, for a good laugh, you turn to comedy flicks. Cameras here focus on faces, capturing all those hilarious expressions up close. Places are bright and funny, filled with goofy props to make you giggle. Editing is all about timing – quick cuts and funny sequences keep you laughing. The music? Well, it's upbeat and playful, adding to the fun. Movies like "Anchorman" and "Airplane!" are like a non-stop laugh party with clever jokes and perfect timing. It's a whole different world, but man, it's a good time. Similarities and differences:  Something that I noticed in horror movies vs comedy movies is that there are slow scenes and the cross cutting timing is the exact opposite. I also noticed that over everything else, mystery scenes give so many more face shots and exaggerate facial expressions way more. Comedy movies tend to keep moving at a fast pace to keep the audience entertained.

Mystery Genre

Image
Researched Films: "Murder on the Orient Express," "Gone Girl."  Mystery movies are like putting together a giant puzzle on screen. Cameras act like detectives, zooming in on every detail. The places they show are mysterious and moody, with cool detective tools and secret stuff adding to the whole mystery vibe. Editing is a bit like a guessing game, jumping around in time and keeping you hooked. And the sounds? Tense music and sneaky noises that make you feel like you're right there in the mystery. Classics like "Murder on the Orient Express" and modern hits like "Gone Girl" are like brain teasers that keep you guessing till the end.

Horror Genre

Image
Researched films: "The Exorcist," "Psycho." Horror movies are all about giving you a good scare and getting your heart racing. They use creepy camera angles such and panning and tilts along with a dark setting to make things spooky. Editing tricks like slow moments and sudden jump scares keep you on the edge, and they use sounds, from eerie music to total silence, to really freak you out. Classics like "The Exorcist" and "Psycho" aren't just scary; they mess with your mind too.

Pitch blog

Image
Welcome back to today's blog, everyone. Therefore , I will be outlining our pitches for the last assignment for you all today.      First pitch: A magic bracelet is discovered, but nothing is as it seems.       Second pitch: A woman has a difficult upbringing. As she gets older, she ceases to be normal.      First pitch: This bracelet is magical to an actor who finds it. By accident, the actor made a wish. He or she dreamed of a more stylish, well-liked life. There is a catch to the last request. This pitch is strong since it offers a feasible solution.      Second pitch: The victim was maltreated and abandoned as a young child. As an adult, she attempted to recapture the childhood she was deprived of. walks outside and attempts to play with small children. Tries to get a stroller and act like a baby. Simply strange things like that. You may have fun filming this one. However, it is dark and a little more sensitive to some.      F ollowing a discussion with my group. Usin

Good to see you again on the blog.  I will be working with Stella, David and Sloane. We are all a high school sophomore. We have similar friends and I first met them in middle school. We spent the entire summer hanging out as a bunch of friends. They are the ideal partners for me because we have mutual trust. Since we both know we will complete the task, we can trust one another. Our parents also get along. This indicates that our parents are comfortable having one another over to their homes. Sloane is smart, which is why I decided to work with her. Additionally, Stella completes his work on time. I also think we could come up with some really excellent solutions if we collaborate. Due to the fact that we both have incredibly creative imaginations, this opening scene will be fantastic. We are brainstorming our ideas. We will pick the one that is entertaining. I am looking forward to working with my group mates. They might appear in the video and carry out our plans. We all get along
