Production Blog: licensing and saftey

We wanted to take a moment to talk about two very significant and personal components of our filmmaking process: safety and legal compliance. Since the outset, our first priorities have been making sure our cast and crew are safe and following all necessary rules and regulations. First and foremost, on any set of a movie, safety is paramount, especially when dealing with young people. In order to watch over and guarantee the safety of our young actors, we made sure that a parent or guardian was there at all times. Our cast and crew were able to flourish in a nurturing and supportive environment that was made possible by having a responsible adult on set, which also gave everyone involved peace of mind. We were very careful to adhere to all pertinent safety procedures and rules in addition to having parents watch over us. Our first concern was always keeping everyone safe, whether that meant setting up the lighting and equipment correctly or taking the required safety measures during s

Production Blog: New Clip Order

Image
We're here to offer more updates on our journey as filmmakers, and this time, we have some really exciting news to share. Following some insightful comments and recommendations, we made the decision to carefully examine the arrangement of our clips and implement some tactical adjustments. This is how our film was improved by rearranging the footage. First and foremost, we would want to express our appreciation to everyone who provided us with their thoughts and recommendations. Your advice has been really helpful in building our project. The timing and flow of our movie was one of the primary criticisms we got. Some viewers thought some scenes were a little jumbled and would have been better with a more logical order. We viewed our film with new eyes and considered this comments carefully. We came to the conclusion that by flipping the clips around, we could improve the narrative arc and generate more energy throughout the duration of the movie. Finding the story's essential p

Production blog: Peer review

Image
We participated in peer review sessions as part of our filming process, where other filmmakers gave us insightful criticism on our work. Several reviewers voiced their displeasure with specific pictures during these sessions, especially with reference to the mixing and coloring. The instances where our editing decisions might have compromised the film's overall visual coherence were brought to light by constructive feedback. Particular criticism was directed at the inconsistent color grading, with some pictures looking too saturated or out of place in relation to the surrounding film. Concerns were also expressed with the way some sequences were blended together, with shots feeling jarring or unnaturally disconnected from one another. Understanding how crucial it is to take input into account, we gave each suggestion a lot of thought during our ensuing editing sessions. In order to create a more cohesive visual approach, we went back and experimented with various color grading me

We gathered all the material and then started the painstaking process of editing, which started with arranging the clips in order of chronological order. In order to preserve narrative coherence, we meticulously examined each scene to make sure it flowed naturally into the next. First, we assembled the video footage from the afterschool acting situations, paying close attention to the characters' interactions and feelings. The light jog shots were then incorporated, with the timing changed to match the scene's excitement and dynamic transitions added for flow. We then added the footage of the enigmatic figure, arranging the scenes purposefully to heighten the tension and interest throughout the whole movie. While preserving visual coherence with the other scenes, the automobile shots were expertly incorporated to highlight the action's speed and intensity. We were meticulous about color grading, modifying hues and tones to bring out the best in every scene's mood and

Production Blog: Filming after school

Image
My friend David came over to my place after school so we could work together on filming our short film project. First, we positioned the camera in the living room and adjusted the lighting and composition for the shot we wanted to take. After getting everything ready, we filmed more scenes in my room, making sure every shot conveyed the right feeling and vibe. To ensure stability and accuracy in our images, David and I took great care when mounting the camera on a tripod. As the filming went on, we saw that more sportier clothing would be necessary to improve a few of the moments. Luckily, we had planned ahead and had some athletic attire ready for the movie's protagonists. In order to give the story a more dynamic and airborne viewpoint, we made the decision to include drone footage in our work. David volunteered his drone-piloting experience, and we collaborated to arrange the photos we needed to shoot. We took some amazing drone footage of us light-jogging through a local park
